What Do You Know About TCU frogs?

ABOUT THE GAME IN LAWRENCE SATURDAY:
*No. 15 TCU makes its Big 12 debut when it travels to Kansas.
*The Horned Frogs have the nation's longest current winning streak at nine in a row. TCU also has won a nation's-best 24 consecutive conference games.
*TCU head coach Gary Patterson will take the field for the first time as TCU's all-time winningest coach. Last week's 56-0 victory over Grambling State was his 110th victory, moving him past Dutch Meyer (109-79-13, 1934-52) into the top spot all-time at TCU. Patterson's .786 winning percentage (110-30) is fourth nationally among active coaches.
*TCU has its first 11:00am kickoff for a game since Sept. 3, 2005, when it won 17-10 at No. 5 Oklahoma.
*The trip to Lawrence represents one of just three flights this season for TCU. Those flights also mark the only three times the Frogs leave the state of Texas.
HOMECOMINGS:
*TCU football coach Gary Patterson was born in Larned, Kan., and is a native of Rozel, Kan.
*Patterson went to Pawnee Heights High School in Rozel and then Dodge City Community College, before being a walk-on linebacker at Kansas State from 1980-81. He is a 1983 graduate of K-State.
*TCU has three players on its roster from Kansas: offensive guards Blaize Foltz (Rose Hill) and Brady Foltz (Rose Hill) and quarterback Tyler Matthews (McPherson).
SERIES NOTES:
*TCU and Kansas are meeting for the first time on the gridiron since a 17-10 KU victory in Lawrence in 1997, the year before Gary Patterson arrived at TCU as defensive coordinator.
*The Frogs hold a 16-8-4 edge over the Jayhawks in a series that dates back to 1942.
*The Frogs are 9-6 all-time in Lawrence and 7-2-2 versus the Jayhawks in Fort Worth. The schools played back-to-back scoreless ties in the 1946 and 1947 seasons in Kansas City.
*Kansas has a three-game winning streak in the series. The Frogs' last victory over the Jayhawks was a 31-21 win in Fort Worth in 1994. TCU's last win in Lawrence was a 6-3 decision in 1962.
*TCU and Kansas met in four consecutive seasons from 1994-97. Prior to that stretch, the teams had not played since 1983.
ROAD WARRIORS:
*The Frogs have won 17 of their last 19 road games.
*TCU won its last 12 road contests in the Mountain West, including a 36-35 victory at Boise State last season to snap the Broncos' 35-game home winning streak.
*With a 17-10 win in Norman in 2005, TCU gave Oklahoma one of its two home losses since 2001.
TCU QUICK HITS:
*TCU is the only school in the nation to win at least 11 games in six of the last seven seasons.
*TCU is one of just four programs (Alabama, Boise State, Oregon) to finish in the top 15 of both the Associated Press and USA Today polls over the last four campaigns.
*TCU is one of just three schools (Florida, Utah) to win at least six bowl games in the last seven seasons.
*Last year's 36-35 victory at Boise State was TCU's third straight win over a top-five ranked opponent and improved the Frogs' record to 4-1 in their last five games against top-five teams. In the 2010 campaign, TCU won 47-7 at No. 5 Utah while defeating No. 5 Wisconsin 21-19 in the Rose Bowl.
